Terms of Use

Terms for using the PI website and add-in

These Terms of Use apply to Project Intelligence for Excel ("PI"), related public pages at pilabs.app, and associated support interactions provided by Pi Labs. Pi Labs is currently operated by Ryan McCall as a sole trader.

Important: PI is intended for project-controls and workbook workflow support. It is not offered for employee surveillance, workforce scoring, individual performance monitoring, or similar decision-making uses.
Acceptance

Using PI

By accessing the PI website, using the add-in, or requesting support, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Purpose

What PI is for

PI is intended to support project-controls workflows in Excel, including forecasting, reporting, setup, tutorial guidance, and workbook protection.

Permitted use

Operational and evaluation use

  • You may use PI only for lawful business, evaluation, or internal operational purposes.
  • You remain responsible for ensuring you have authority to use the relevant workbook content.
  • You must not misuse the site or add-in, interfere with service availability, or attempt unauthorised access.
User responsibility

Validate outputs and maintain backups

PI is a software tool that assists with project-controls workflows. Users remain responsible for reviewing, validating, and approving their own workbook content, forecasts, reports, and downstream decisions.

You are solely responsible for maintaining current backups and version history of your workbooks before using PI. Pi Labs does not undertake to preserve, recover, reconstruct, or restore lost, corrupted, overwritten, or incompatible workbook data or information.

Prohibited use

No workforce surveillance or adverse personnel use

You must not use PI to monitor, track, profile, rank, benchmark, or evaluate identifiable individuals or identifiable groups for performance management, disciplinary action, remuneration decisions, promotion, termination, staffing selection, or any other adverse employment or personnel action.

Access control

When Pi Labs may suspend or terminate access

Pi Labs may suspend, restrict, or terminate access, support, or future licensing where use is unlawful, abusive, commercially harmful, inconsistent with these terms, or reasonably believed to involve prohibited monitoring, profiling, or adverse personnel decision-making.

No warranty

Service provided as-is

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PI is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

Limitation of liability

Project decisions remain with the user

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pi Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or business losses arising from or related to the use of PI, including loss, corruption, overwrite, restoration, or recovery of data, reporting errors, forecast errors, project outcomes, or the cost of reconstructing workbook information.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified under applicable law.

Support and changes

Updates

Pi Labs may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the website, the add-in, or support processes from time to time. Public policy pages will be updated where appropriate.

Governing law

Jurisdiction

These terms are intended to be governed by the law applicable in the jurisdiction where Pi Labs is established, unless another law must apply.

Source code and licensing

No licence to source code or materials

Except for the limited right to access and use PI as made available by Pi Labs in accordance with these Terms, no licence, assignment, or transfer of any intellectual property rights is granted to you.

Unless Pi Labs gives prior written permission, and except to the extent a restriction is not permitted by applicable law, you must not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, sublicense, adapt, modify, translate, scrape, harvest, mirror, frame, index, extract, decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the PI website, add-in, source code, object code, scripts, documentation, layout, or related materials.

You must not use robots, crawlers, spiders, scrapers, automated tools, or bulk extraction methods to access, monitor, copy, collect, republish, or extract any part of PI or its code or content. You must not remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trade mark, attribution, confidentiality, or proprietary notices.

Any repository, package, or code access provided by Pi Labs is subject only to the specific written licence or written authorisation accompanying that material. If no separate written licence is provided, no right is granted to use, copy, modify, distribute, disclose, or deploy the source code or packaged add-in beyond ordinary authorised use of PI as supplied by Pi Labs.

Third-party components remain subject to their own licence terms and notices.
